Now playing in London -- Red Hot Chili Peppers. Sound good -- Flea is one of my favorite bass players.

Anyway, the MSN webcast quality is excellent -- no droputs, no delays on my cable ISP.

Once again, let's steer clear of any politics -- I'm watching it for the music.

Let the music, and the drinks, flow. Enjoy it, guys. [sm=party-smiley-012.gif]

Yeah watching that right now...KEANE...Metallica coming up in Lodon.... let's save our planet [sm=00000436.gif]

Metallica! Love Hetfield's beard -- they sound excellent.

Whoa-- they're playing my favorite tune of theirs right now -- "Enter Sandman".

And to follow them -- the infamous Spinal Tap -- how appropriate. Will the drummer explode? [:D]

I got plenty of beer (Czech Pilsner Urquell )...BRING IT ON...the weather is nice...beautiful Saturday afternoon :)

KG Erwin -> RE: Somewhat OT: Live Earth Concerts (7/7/2007 10:03:30 PM)

"Big Bottom" -- yes, I'm a bassplayer, so this took me into bottom heaven. An homage to booty and bunda. Beautiful. [:D]

This whole event is really unique. I'm having a blast rotating between the continents. The cause is good, and the organization of it all is simply astounding. This is truly a global event of unprecendented proportions.

More -- outstanding performances by so many bands. They raised the bar for this, and so far, there have been no noticeable gaffes.

One other thing -- security. No problems. I am so thankful for this.

Bring Back the EV1  [&o][&o] Stick it to the Oil man.

Man I hope I can pass my emission testing this year [:'(]

Oh this is about the music, I thought it was an environmental post, sorry.

KG Erwin -> RE: Somewhat OT: Live Earth Concerts (7/7/2007 10:52:33 PM)

Careful, gunny. This IS about protecting the environment, but it's umbrellaed by the music. I don't want any politics to spoil it.

I got one comment about German vocalists, though. Even if they're singing about love, it sounds like they're giving commands. "Lieben Sie mich"! Sorry, that was a poor attempt at humor.

you have been watching too many military movies :)

dinsdale -> RE: Somewhat OT: Live Earth Concerts (7/7/2007 11:42:55 PM)

Just what the world needs, musicians to save it. Thank god they're on the case. After all the years of success with hunger, 3rd world debt and apartheid, it will be only a matter of moments before the environment is secure in perpetuity.

What would become of us without spoiled rockstars to promote their records on tv [sm=love0028.gif]

Yep. This is what we've turned into. Some good tunes, though. Remember, no politics allowed as we dance our way into oblivion.

Heil, mein Führer!
You command, it shall be done.
No politics in a thread about a seriously political subject.

-suck it!

KG Erwin -> RE: Somewhat OT: Live Earth Concerts (7/8/2007 5:03:51 AM)

Nein! It's serious, but the admins here don't want to deal with it.  I know the forum rules, and this is stretching them .  Just watch--don't comment.

Roger Waters was good -- the Police are next up.

That's Good. Global Warming doesn't meet the criteria then. [;)]

Jeff Norton -> RE: Somewhat OT: Live Earth Concerts (7/9/2007 7:01:49 PM)

I think Akon said it best - "embrace global warming"..

er....right[X(]

Gem35 -> RE: Somewhat OT: Live Earth Concerts (7/10/2007 4:12:58 AM)

I missed Keane!!!!!, how did they sound?
Also, I heard a rumor Mad Season was going to show up with Staley in a casket....
environmentally friendly one at that.

Doggie -> RE: Somewhat OT: Live Earth Concerts (7/11/2007 12:12:35 AM)

So let me get this straight.  Mobs of zillionaires are leaving their palatial estates to fly in on private jets so they can tell the rest of us how we need to restrict ourselves to one square of toilet paper per visit and start riding bicycles?

So they have to destroy the planet in order to save it?  And one of the featured artists is "Yusef Islam" the guy who thinks anyone who disses the prophet deserves to be murdered?

Sounds just like Woodstock to me.[8|]

KG Erwin -> RE: Somewhat OT: Live Earth Concerts (7/11/2007 12:33:07 AM)

Agh, despite everything, the highlight for me was watching 25 or so bassplayers lined up to perform Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom".

Revisit it here: http://entimg.msn.com/i/ExperienceData/p1-7/us/x.htm?sh=LiveEarth&ep=le_london&ch=57
