Just curious what most here think about "upgrading" the Seafire to Wildcat Vs. I just had two RN carriers square off against land based Tonys and they didn't do particularly well. Kill ratio about 1:1.

My impression was always that the Seafire was a superior plane, but not sure if that holds true in WitP.

The Seafire has very, very, VERY short legs, so it's a purely defensive fighter. It can shred all Japanese carrier aircraft, including the Zero, but it can't escort your strike aircraft.

I usually keep my Seafires until the FAA gets Hellcats and Corsairs, and even then keep some. The Seafire flew all the way to VJ-Day, alongside its American cousins.
