I've only been playing detailed combats for about a month now so tell me if this should happen: In the terrain choice box before a combat in Fredericksburg I was offered Forts. When the map unveiled itself there were two of those 3-hex forts. I've seen this in Southern Steel but this was the first time I've seen this in Coming Fury.

Should they be there if there are none in the province?

What month in the game was this?

What's happening is that in the ACWProvinces.txt file, where we assigned the terrain types possible/likely in a province, Fredericksburg is one of those that can have fortifications (just as it can have "Wilderness," "Riverine," etc.). So, you probably just got forts as a terrain type because of the file.

I guess that if you were fighting in July 1861 fortifications would be unrealistic, but any turn after that it would be historically possible for them to be present.

It was early October. Thanks for explaining.
