jbunnelle -> PB/PL Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/26/2007 7:00:11 PM)

NOW INCLUDED IN PATCH, SO NO NEED TO DOWNLOAD SEPARATELY!!! Many thanks to Matrix for acknowledging my hard work.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

FIXED FULL VERSIONS FOR PANZERBLITZ & PANZERLEADER!
(fixed several issues with initial PB release; all now functional)

Recreated the interface screens to suit my grognard fancy, complete with original box abrasions and rubbing. [:D] Those who understand really need no explanation.

This replaces almost all of the interface screens but doesn't alter the map and/or units. Can't say I want to go THAT extreme. Also, I've included two icons (see last screenshot), although you have to create the shortcut and change the icon from that furry Russian hat thingy. Enjoy.

NOTE: This has no PB/PL scenarios. I think you can find those elsewhere. Check the mod subforum, I think there's a link. This is strictly cosmetic.

(SEE ALTERNATE DOWNLOAD MIRRORS IN POSTS BELOW, THANKS TO JASON AND HERMANN)

AZKGungHo -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/26/2007 7:26:27 PM)

I love it!

Way to go! [&o]

Where can I get it???

jbunnelle -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/26/2007 8:13:09 PM)

For right now, I've posted it on Rapidshare.

http://rapidshare.com/files/45200813/PBlitz_interface_mod.zip.html

But if anyone has space to post it, please let me know.

jbunnelle -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/26/2007 8:20:03 PM)

Jason, is the greenish in-game interface hardcoded? I couldn't find the bitmaps for it. Thanks.

Also, for some reason, I can't seem to alter the DamageResults.bmp file. It always reverts to the original, even after the bitmap is altered and the color reduced to meet the game's specs. Any enlightment on that would be appreciated as well.

AZKGungHo -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/26/2007 8:24:30 PM)

I got it and it looks GREAT - how about one for West Front and then there's Rising Sun - hmmmm anyone out there up to making one that would have the PB/PL feel to it?

jbunnelle -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/26/2007 8:27:14 PM)

Working on Panzer Leader now. Should be able to knock it out over the weekend. Glad you like it. Truly a labor of love. [;)]

Also, I plan on altering the buttons too ("Previous", "Exit", etc). Just haven't had time yet.

vadersson -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/26/2007 8:42:43 PM)

Cool!  I got JTCS because I like PB and Pl so much.

Thanks,
Duncan

I would imagine but I don't really know.

Hmm, good question. I will take a look over the weekend.

Scrap iron !

dudalb_slith -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/27/2007 12:07:27 AM)

Do you still have the option to sort scenarios in a different way in the selection screen in your mod as you do in the Original? Since at times I like to sort by complexity (the default) but other times prefer to sort by date.

Oops, forgot those words were actually sorters. Everyone hold up on downloading this, let me fix it and reupload in a bit.

Almost finished with Panzer Leader. Odds are I'll release it tomorrow.

Warhorse -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/27/2007 3:59:20 AM)

The damage results screen is in one of the exe's, under bitmaps, using a resource editor, like reshack or PEresourceeditor. I edited this for my Korean Mod. To what greenish in-game are you referring too?

Mike

Great Job !!     Brings back some great times[:D]

EricSilver_MatrixForum -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/27/2007 3:38:31 PM)

Thanks, I like it a lot.

;)

jbunnelle -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/27/2007 4:16:45 PM)

Just fixed the problems with PanzerBlitz (forgot it has a different bitmap for linked campaigns, now included; also inserted text next to scenario-sorting buttons--thanks, dudalb--and fixed several other small issues). So please redownload if you have the first day release.

PanzerLeader now released. Links are at the top.

Thanks for the hacking tip, warhorse, I just downloaded the freeware.

Hmmm, just had an idea for Rising Sun . . .

HansBolter -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/27/2007 4:26:05 PM)

Holy shades of yesteryear Batman!

This is absolutely awesome.....like many, I cut my wargaming teeth on 'blitz and 'leader [&o]

One small glitch. After downloading blitz my attempt to download leader resulted in a message that I had reached the download limit for free usees and must now pay to be able to download more.

Is it possible to post this somewhere that people don't have to pay to download?

jbunnelle -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/27/2007 4:35:29 PM)

Click the free box on the lower right. Then you have to enter the security code (down towards the center of the screen). I'd love for someone to host this if they can. RapidShare is convoluted on purpose. Sorry. [:(]

Yea I did that for the first one. The second one doesn't offer me the free option with the security code. It tells me I have reached the limit for free downloads and must now pay to download more.

jbunnelle -> RE: PB Mod for the Hardcore Old-School (7/27/2007 5:32:33 PM)

Yeah, sometimes I get that but can't figure out a pattern to that damn site. Ugh.

Hang tight, just sent them to Jason, who has graciously offered to host them.
