I'm still on MS XP, but for some reason on the menu, from the C Drive, or from the Run programmes tool, I can't open the manual --- any ideas?

What version of Adobe Acrobat are you running?

Noakesy -> RE: Game Manual (7/27/2007 9:24:46 AM)

Aha, didn't think about that - got a newish pc and forgot about loading that type of stuff. Any idea which one I need (and whether it's downloadable for free anywhere)? I've downloaded acrobat reader 8 but that doesn't seem to launch at all?

Thanks

8 is the latest version. What do you mean is not launching the application or is it not opening the PDF file?

Noakesy -> RE: Game Manual (7/27/2007 9:31:42 AM)

Well, downloaded reader 8 about 10mins ago for free (it seemed) but double click on the icon or go to start-programmes and nothing comes up - hence when I go to GoA manual I get nothing - odd.

Looks like you either got a corrupt download of the reader installer. Did you download from here:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

?

Noakesy -> RE: Game Manual (7/27/2007 12:21:18 PM)

Thanks - yep I've downloaded it from there 3 times now and it still doesn't launch either as an independent product or the manual itself (other manuals now won't open either, such as battlefront). I think there might be a problem with my pc (whenever I turn it off now it fails and I have to allow it to 'power down' via other means. Thanks for the help anyway

you could also try one of the other free viewers like FoxIt

Thank you for your advice and help with this - downloaded it and doesn't work either, I reckon it's something wrong with the pc - bugger[:(]

Don't suppose anyone has the rules as a word document or similar do they? Had a brief look at the game and it looks great. I can see what people say about the interface and the fact that the screen doesn't fit as nicely as it should, but the subject matter and feel of it is great, looking forward to playing it eventually (I've now realised this will be impossible without the rules, so will have to wait until I'm back at work next week to maybe print them there - very annoying, but my problem not a game problem).[:(][:(][:@]

Stop Press Stop Press - Blinking manual now opening properly - hooray!!! August 1914 here I come....[:)]

buffewo -> RE: Game Manual (8/3/2007 11:41:59 PM)

I am having the same problem. I just downloaded GOA and when trying to access the manual I get nothing. Furthermore none of my other PDF files will open either. When I re-boot my computer everything is back to normal. I can open PDFs. Then when I try to open the GOA manual, nothing happens and all my other PDFs are in-accesseble. I am running the current version of Adobe Acrobat 8. Any ideas what is going on? Does the word E-Book in the title have anything to do with it??

Regards
Roger

Snydeman55 -> RE: Game Manual (8/4/2007 12:41:32 AM)

Same issue here. I have to manually open the file with Acrobat 8, but it locks up acrobat when I try and PRINT the bugger. Stuck at "Flattening....97%" WTH is that?!

Anyways, add my name to the list.

Noakesy -> RE: Game Manual (8/4/2007 4:01:21 PM)

All I can say is mine worked eventually - Flintlock put a note on the SSG forum about the techie reason behind this (linked to a number of matrix products I think), but as I say mine worked eventually.
