Is there anyway this game can remember my choice to turn the freakin' music off? I'm getting really sick of hearing it and turning it off over and over and over. Pretty much the first thing I do with any game is kill the music. This is the first game I've ever seen where it keeps coming back.

Hi marc420,

If you go to C:\Matrix Games\Guns of August\SOUND (assuming that you set up the default installation), you can rename or delete the 5 "Music" files. This will stop the music from playing again on startup.

..renaming the directry "sound",
turn I all sound OFF ??

I've some problems with "Device already open" Bug.

And I'm searching a way to play a new game without restart in less than an year (measured in game timimg) ??

That'll stop the music but it will also bring up an error dialog box as the game looks for the first of the music files at launch.

Doesn't it just look for the "IntroMusic" file? I believe I encountered the same problem when I first started experimenting, and I left that one unchanged to prevent this.

Another thing you can try is copy and rename a shorter .wav file as Music 1 thru 5, like Rifle.wav, but I am not sure whether that will just have the player cycle through the available selections quicker, as I haven't tried that myself.

Just out of curiosity - is music playing in your games past the 3 or 4 minute introduction song? That is the only song I get - then no more music. I kinda like the music and would not mind hearing it (at least for a while).

I havev my speakers turned off unless there's something I particularly want to hear.

I believe it looks for the music1.wav. I just added a few seconds of silence to the initial music file, just long enough for me to toggle off the music.
