In trying to understand what's going on through this UI, I've been writing down both what I have and what my decisions are in the strat phase. Now I'm seeing some very weird results.

As Russia, last turn I had 0 trenches. So I spent 2 pts on trenches expecting to have 6 this turn. I get to this turn, and I've got 0 trenches. I spent the other 3 of my five points on Arms, so I expected to get about 15 arms points into the queue. Instead I've got 36 this turn with 0 coming in next turn. The 36 might be right, as I don't know if I spent all my points last turn. But the 0 coming next turn is definitely wrong. So all my Russian CPs seem to have disappeared with no effect.

GB was in crisis, so I spent my 1 cp on naval. I get to this turn and I've got 0 naval with 0 coming next turn. That one cp I spent on naval seems to have just gone up in smoke.

The page that displays when you go to spend research points is just weird. If you compare what it says versus what the national status screen says for what techs you have, they don't match. And I think the progress numbers in the research screen are just wacked, as they make no sense. They'll tell me I have like 3% progress, and the next turn I'll check the national status screen and see I advanced a tech level. That's what got me started writing things down as I was trying to figure out what techs I really had and what needed to be done to get an advance. I'm basically ignoring anything the research screen says as it all appears to be garbage to me.

Most production takes more than one turn to produce. When you are buying stuff hover the cursor over the "next" columns, for a closer explanation. That took me a while to figure out myself.

The research progress is cumbersome to use yes. You have to figure out your percent progress in relation to the cost of the next research level in order to figure out, how many points you still need.

There are three steps in the production...

Your current number is what you have for the turn you are getting ready to play. This number will not change because you cannot add to the current turn. You will see how they match up in the top bar with what is on the list. The next column means just that, what you will have on your next turn. So you will see for example that if you do not have enough barrage points down the road, you may want to add some for the next turn. Finally you have the last column where you will see your present purchases go if it takes 2 turns, such as an HQ refit....So the two numbers after the word Next separated by a dash (-) are the next two turns.....hope this helps......

Thanks, J P!

I figured all that out on my own this weekend, but it did take awhile. Even so, it wis very helpful to see confirmation. Hopefully it will save others some time as well.
