hotter than hell around here today..............101.8 @ 5PM, Heat Index @ 111 [:@] (the color of my noggin when I finished watering plants) ...........just to show what a little bit of humidity can do........about an hour later it went cooled off to 98.6 but the NI was @ 116 because the humidity had gone from 37% to 45% [;)][:D] [8D]

AHFlattop -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 4:48:56 AM)

Here in Arizona you're not allowed to complain about the heat unless its over 115F. Since the HI is 116F [>:] in your neck of the country I guess a little whinning is OK. [;)]

BrucePowers -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 4:55:48 AM)

Bodhi -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 5:04:29 AM)

rockmedic109 -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 11:24:27 AM)

captskillet -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 2:04:00 PM)

AH, if you guys had the humidity to go with that heat like we do you'd sing a different tune I promise.............it was low yesterday @ 45% [;)]! Try spending a summer in Houston or Mobile and you'll find out what a sauna's like.

CobraAus -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 2:31:03 PM)

it was a lovely 17c and raining to day on my 65th birthday

I laugh in your general direction. You want muggy - try growing up in South Florida right next to the Everglades. 7:00 AM, 85 degrees, and 90% humidity. You break a sweat opening the car door getting out at football practice. In the summer, it will usually "only" reach 98-99, but the humidity stays right there at 80% plus. Even the boars hide.

Terminus -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 3:06:43 PM)

We got a good bit of rain last night, but that didn't do anything for the general muggyness... I didn't fall asleep until 5AM![X(]

BTW, happy birthday Cobra![8D]

BrucePowers -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 3:55:51 PM)

Yes, happy brithday Cobra.[:)]

BrucePowers -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 3:58:09 PM)

I grew up in Mobile and I think the humidity is actually worse here in B'ham. It was 75 degrees this morning at 5:45 A.M.

Another reason for you guys to hate So Cal, it's cool, overcast, and 68 degrees in L.A. right now 9:30am. Hasn't gotten much over 80 degrees F in weeks.
I love it.

I remember the first time I felt the Birmingham heat and humidity so many years ago... but then again I was young and despite it I used to cycle those lovely hills (my relatives lived in the Vestavia area in Birmingham) every morning and then go for a swimm in country club...

Yeah, but is the breathable?[:D]

BrucePowers -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 10:14:26 PM)

Although, if you are near the coast (Seal Beach Parts of Huntington Beach, etc) the air quality is quite good.

Big B -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/11/2007 11:53:16 PM)

Well, so long as you smoke it won't matter [:'(]

I just thought it was warm yesterday............105.1 --- HI 116 @ 4pm.............oh well it is August and this is NW Louisiana [;)] [:D] !

BrucePowers -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/12/2007 1:08:42 AM)

It rained where I am at today and the temperature went down 16 degrees[:D]

rockmedic109 -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/12/2007 2:05:44 AM)

Where I am it is a rather nice 76 degrees.  A gentle breeze blowing.....well through the AC vents.  Haven't been brave enough to go outside yet.

Coach Z -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/12/2007 2:25:55 AM)

captskillet Are you any where near Fort Polk?

Damn if they dont have the biggest Non 2E Mosquitos I've ever seen down there!

captskillet -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/12/2007 4:15:43 AM)

Coach I'm in Shreveport about 150 miles due N of Leesville/Ft. Polk.............and yes we got some big blood suckers down in this part of the world!

AHFlattop -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/12/2007 6:05:26 AM)

We can bless the coeds and their various state of (un)dress ..... Makes the heat more bearable.

captskillet -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/12/2007 2:41:06 PM)

Yes that is one of the advantages [;)] !

Feinder -> RE: Da**it it was.............. (8/13/2007 2:35:15 AM)

Hot enough here (in Land o Lakes), for me to dodge cutting the grass.  Unfortunately, the kid I found to do it, is on vacation, so I actually have to do it myself this week.

Ick.
