Doobious -> Windowed mode? (8/28/2007 10:23:05 PM)

Since widescreen resolutions are not supported (again!), can this game be played in windowed mode?

Arkady -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/28/2007 11:27:55 PM)

yes

PDiFolco -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/28/2007 11:34:38 PM)

How ? Didn't find any screen res/windowed mode options ...

EDIT : huh, sorry, found it... [8|]

YohanTM2 -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/29/2007 1:54:34 PM)

BTW, is that me or is the game a real hog when windowed ? Everything is jerky and buttons/actions take more than 1/2 second to acknowledge...
In full screen it's much more fluid.
And any chance to have better res than 800*600 [&o]?

Vypuero -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/29/2007 4:08:39 PM)

I just got used to the stretched icons in wide-screen mode.  Once you get used to it, it seems normal.

firepowerjohan -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/29/2007 4:52:02 PM)

Game is in 1024x768, not 800x600

PDiFolco -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/29/2007 5:03:38 PM)

Oops, the window was so small I thought it was 800*600 - but maybe that's due to the fact that the window is immovable and is to the top and left of the screen [sm=scared0018.gif]

YohanTM2 -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/29/2007 5:24:25 PM)

It should not be. I have that happen every now and then when I move my laptop off a separate monitor. If I close the game and reopen it fills the whole screen again.

Also, game is one of the best I have purchased from Matrix in terms of its stability, especially using ALT-TAB. Most of theirs blow up.

targul -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/29/2007 6:16:40 PM)

I have always had a problem with this game and Alt-Tab.  When I alt-tab it locks up the computers and forces me to relog.  Doesnt happen everytime but over half the time.  Anyone have any suggestions?  I just thought it was my machine but with others talking about it not sure.

PDiFolco -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/29/2007 6:40:06 PM)

The game being programmed in Java is a bless - for multiplatform, stability, ..- as well as a curse - general slowness/choppiness, not graphics-friendy.. [:'(]

Most of "theirs" I have purchased have "minimize" buttons that work perfectly with no need for the use of ALT+TAB. You must be buying from a different Matrix Games than I.

alt-tab never crashes on my PC with CEAW - it used to, but does not any more.

Same here, from 1.02 version I have not seen it.

targul -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/29/2007 8:34:47 PM)

Today alone alt-tab has crashed my computer eachtime I moved from game to sending it.  It was 3 for 3.  That is a little above normally.  Normally it locks up about 2 out of 3 times when I use the alt tab.

Does it happen in windowed mode or full screen mode?

targul -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/29/2007 10:04:41 PM)

Full screen

YohanTM2 -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/30/2007 12:32:39 AM)

If I place game in windowed mode it should stop the crashes?  If so let me know how to do that.

Thanks

SMK-at-work -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/30/2007 2:01:54 AM)

Is there  a setup option to make windowed the default?

YohanTM2 -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/31/2007 3:03:40 PM)

Are you running an older system?

Maybe too may things running in background? Seriously, this is the most stable game I have ever seen.

Vypuero -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/31/2007 4:12:24 PM)

I think you can set it up to open in windowed mode - check the text file in the root directory that has various options in it.  That can be changed I know.

firepowerjohan -> RE: Windowed mode? (8/31/2007 4:33:37 PM)

No, windowed mode setting in the settings.txt is not available until next patch but you can manually switch to windowed mode in the options screen in the game.

Thanks!
That was our plan also to make sure the game was balanced and steady already on release.
