I just bought Massive Assault. I installed it ok, patched it up, but when I went to start the game, I gotan error that said "Illegal copy detected". It is NOT an illegal copy (it's pretty obvious that it's not judging from the manual, the disc, and the box).

Is this a known problem?

Hi, did you buy it directly through us? Is there a Matrix Games logo on the box?

I bought it in a discount store. It was in the bargin bin. Here's the box it came in. Looks legit to me. Disc doesn't have a blue back and the manual is high quality.

Bump.

That's not a known issue mrscaz, but that was released to retail back in 2003 and we haven't sold it ourselves online since 2006, so I'm not sure what might be causing that. To be clear, there was no error at all during installation, but only when you start the game up? Does it get to the game start screen at all before popping up the error?

Could you post a DxDiag file for your system please and also let us know if you have any security software running that could interfere with the game?

Hi, did you install the correct patch version? There have been different ones based on the respective publisher.

Download the one with our logo next to it please.

That's it.  I had installed the GMX patch.  Goofed everything up.  Thanks!
