At first, I was a bit "out there" concerning the fact that you chose brigades as a "unit of action"; I want my beloved 1st Maryland Volunteer Infantry!

You can't have the civil war without 1st [insert state name] here!

But after playing my first detailed battle (a nice 60,000 men total one) somewhere in Fredericksburg, I can see why you went with Brigades; to keep the scale in the Detailed Battles more manageable, as well as army management.

The little animations in the detailed battle are simply awesome. Who did the artwork; this is the best I've seen since the glory days of 320x200 MS-DOS VGA. You could actually split off the Detailed battles and with a bit of work sell them as a separate game.

One little thing; tho, what scale are the hexes?

You can split the brigades and even though they are "demi-brigades", you could call them regiments. but as you say the number of units would be large and no colonels to command them.

Hold your tongue Ryan!

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Thanks for the kind words.

Hexes are about 100 yards.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the kind words! I did most all of the FoF graphics, including those little animations. My favorite ones are the generals and cavalrymen, with the horses thrashing around and the guys swinging their sabers.

Glad you're enjoying Forge!
