maine_raptor -> Hot Keys and "fast" movement (9/24/2007 2:29:33 PM)

Does anybody know of a printable list of the Hot Keys for JTCS? IIRC the original game (Talonsoft's) had a "cheat" card that was mighty handy. Anything like that available?

I finally got my copies of JTCS this weekend and loaded it onto my PC's. No problems, except for the movement (human and AI). I checked the "Fast Human" and "Fast Computer" setting for movement and the units moved at a speed that was close to Warp Factor 9. Is there a way to adjust the speed (other than the "Fast Setting) or is that dependent upon your PC's CPU speed?

One final question: Can you create a scenario, using the editors, whereby the German/Western Allies are on one side and the Russians are on another?

Hmm, not that I am aware of, no. Something to possibly look at in the future though!

Not yet, no. You can fight the Germans vs Russians and the Western Allies against the Soviets in separate scenarios though.

Thanks Jason,

The speed thing would be a help. Both PC's are running AMD 3700+ chips so they are quite fast. Some sort of slider/mid setting would be nice. Patch 1.04, perhaps? [:D]

The reason I asked about mix and match battles is due to two books by Douglas Niles and Michael Dobson: Fox on the Rhine and Fox at the Front.

Together they tell a story of an alt ending to the ETO. It's a damn good read and has some fine fodder for JTCS scenario development (Can you say Patton, Rommel, and the Third Army in Berlin surrounded by Zhukov's Army?).[X(]

Maine-raptor.

Both books are ordered and on their way to me now, looks like a few hours good reading.

They do sound promising. Thanks for the lnfo in your post.

I just read those 2 books a few months back, and REALLY enjoyed them. Some good works of alternate fiction.
