ORIGINAL: goodboyladdie Nope. I have never read one of his books. What's the attraction? Most of his books are humorous fantasy (as found in the Sci Fi/Fantasy section of the book store). His early books were poking fun at the Sword and Sandal Fantasy like Conan, then he evolved into poking fun at things in this world (which I think were his best works), his recent books are OK, but lack the wit of his work a few years ago. In Moving Pictures, and malevolent spirit from Holywood escapes and infects a city with a need to make and watch moving pictures, which feed the beast and makes it dangerous. One of the "stars" in these pictures was a dog named Laddie, who is good looking but dense as a brick. One of the protagonists is anothe dog named Gaspode who is a genetic experiment gone wrong, but he's brilliantly intelligent and can talk. Gaspode can also talk to other animals. About all Laddie ever has to say are things along the lines of "Laddie is a good boy. Good boy Laddie!" Gaspode can't stand him. Gaspode later appears in some other books, but Laddie was a one off character. Bill
