Arctic Blast -> Question (9/29/2007 12:01:54 AM)

So, guys, I've been looking around for a football game that offers me a lot of the features I see in this game right now. I love the customization options! what I'm wondering is...is there a plan for somewhere down the line, possibly adding a draft (if there isn't one now), or free agency model to the game? I love the off-field aspects of the sport.

The game does have a draft for each league, you can set the number of rounds.  This version will not have free agency, salaries and caps, but David has that planned for the next version.  Im pretty sure that version will also have trading.

Thank you for asking.

Maximum Football does include a draft.  It also includes team profiles that aid in the draft and in cuts after training camp.

Salaries, free agents, and other front office and management features are schedules to be in a new version of the game down the road.  These features will not be included in any Maximum Football 2.x updates.

That does not mean leagues cannot use their own free agent systems.  I know some FBPro leagues that used salaries and free agents prior to the third party tools be available for that.

Appreciate the quick replies! Sounds very good, guys...something I will certainly be keeping my eyes on.

Funny you mentioned FBPro...when I first saw this game, that was the first title to pop in to my head...it's like FBPro (I extensively played the '95 and '96 iterations of that series), but with insane customization. I'm actually somewhat concerned I'll spend so much time figuring out which field size/rules set/plays to use that I'll blow a neuron before I even set foot on the field.[:D]

Edit : Couple more quick questions...I am one of those freakish human beings who has the patience to edit leagues and players for hours on end (first thing I used to do when I bought Madden, before even playing it...was edit the player ratings to something resembling reality), what are the capabilities of the editor with this game? And once a league is built, how easy is it to switch league files in and out of the game itself?

I havent really used the in game player editor, but the league file is basically a database you can open and edit in OpenOffice or Microsoft Access.
