Bombur -> Badgers not attacking? (9/29/2007 6:24:20 AM)

-In the scenario fishing net (Japan vs China-regnl conflicts standard database) I cannot convince my Badgers to use their Silkworms against innocent fishing boats. I order them to intercept target and they approach the ships and start to run circles around them. Clicking them to attack in the pull down menu results in the info that they are too far from target even if they arenīt (the Silkworm has a 54nm range). How to use those wonderful missiles??? The Badger radar is active.

hello Bombur,

could you tell us wich database you were playing with and eventually post a saved game?

At wich distance where you from your target and at wich altitude were fflying your Badgers?

cheers,

Jan

Could it be the same issue that has been seen on exocet missiles?  i don't remember if it is the ODB but in that case the missile could only launch when the target was within the missiles sensor range ie about 10nm.

Yes Dagooz, if it's DB related, there are many possibilities, for example it can be the fuel range that is not equal to the Max Launch Range, a flag misssing...

cheers,

Jan

-Default database (ODB)
-Tried at every possible altitude (I repeated the attempt many times)
-Tried at many distances (from 15 to 54nm)

hello Bombur,

i just checked the launch parameters and the missile can be launched from 54 nm to 15nm from the target and at an altitude between 0 and 20 000 meters.

i also tried the said scen and the Silkworms were launched either by the AI or by manually by myself.

hope it helps,

Jan

I created a save game but cannot upload it, it says the format is not supported. Maybe is that Iīm attempting to attack targets before proper identification? How could I send the saved game to you?

Didnīt work, they keep hoovering near to target, coming back and forward about 15nm from the target

ClaudeJ -> RE: Badgers not attacking? (9/29/2007 8:27:39 PM)

could you send me your saved game by email please?

cheers,

Its a well know fact that badgers will not attack unless sufficiently provoked, rocks and sharp sticks tend to work well, as do baits of small children.  Your Chinese badger of course may prefer the baits to be marinated in sauces of a local/indigenous character!

Its called levity!

from Bombur, by email, sooner this morning:

Discovered the trouble. I installed 3.0811 (beta right over 3.7.00)

The site update is somewhat confusing.

The game is already working. Silkworms are wonderful!!!!

Thank you a lot and sorry for making you lose your time!!

Bombur

have fun all,

Jan
