BB56 -> Questions before buying (10/26/2007 5:18:04 PM)

I've followed this forum for a bit as I have TOAW - CW but am thinking of getting this one.

2 questions:
1) How stable is the game. Are there any major, showstopper type bugs?
2) Who are Elmer and PO?
3) As I understand it, the Boxed version comes with a printed manual. Is that true?

Thanks in advance.

No. Some very minor issues, nothing important

2) Who are Elmer and PO?

Both the same, its the AI or "Programmable opponent"

None of note - as each update appears, more improvements take care of the lingering past interferences.

2) Who are Elmer and PO?

Elmer is the friendly name given by Norm to the computer AI. I may be wrong, but Elmer -PO are one in the same. But, when you refer to Elmer, its the *brain* behind the engine that drives the System. The PO would be the mechanism that allows you to interact in a given scenario.

AFAIK - that would be true. A recient change from Matrix, and a welcome one. Seeing how the Manual is a treasure trove of info crucial to good game play. Thank goodness for FinePrint (abilty to have multi- pages on a single sheet) and a fast color laser printer at work....

Thanks in advance.

No prob - we're all friends here - helping is what we do...

TOAW's not too bad anyway. It's not like a lot of the newer wargames where you need to take a Master's Degree before opening a turn; there's a lot of depth, but you can swim on the surface and still enjoy yourself.

Thanks for all the info, guys.   I'll be saving my pennies for this one - it'll be a birthday present to me from me.
