if the subformations are not in the same hex, IE transfering to a shell formation of some distance there need to be a mode to get them there, trucks etc.

It takes some trial and error, for example if the units transferred can make it on their own(ap) then you can transfer up to the stacking limit(target hex). I did some transfers this morning and they all worked great. Now if I can just remember where I put those blasted guys... [;)]
