tide1212 -> Problem With Advanced Tactics (10/28/2007 12:53:20 AM)

I'm having a problem getting Advanced Tactics to run on my computer. When I click on the desk top icon or in all programs I keep getting an error message License Check - error with your serial number as entered.
I deleted the game from my hard drive and re-installed I also got the serial number from Matrix incase I had messed up the number. And I'm still getting the error message
( It was a digital download also )

Thanks
Gary

Gary,

Do you have any kind of security software running during the installation process? All I can think of is that something is preventing the installer from completing the serial number settings and that's causing the problem.

- Erik

Hi Erik

No security software running.  This is my 9th registered Matrix game and the first time this has happened. Could the NET 2.0 Framework be causing the problem ?

@tide1212,

Do you use Vista by any chance?

Hi Vic

Nope I'm using Windows XP Home Edition.

The only thing i can think of is that somehow Advanced Tactics is not allowed to execute other executables.

This causes AT not to get back anything from the matrix copy protection programm and hence exiting with the mentioned message.

Hi Vic

That's what Erik was thinking also. The trick is finding what is stopping the game from running. Thanks for your thoughts

Gary,

I assume you did allow the .NET 2.0 Framework to install? This issue really seems like something interfered during the installation though.

- Erik

I did let it install,looking at programs I have installed I saw I only had v1.1
Would Matrix let me download the game again to see if it might of been a bad download ?

Gary

Erik Rutins -> RE: Problem With Advanced Tactics (10/28/2007 4:22:49 PM)

Yes, you could download again, but if the installation completed I'm 99.9% sure the download is not the problem. If you have no security software of any kind running on your system then I'm really at a loss to explain this right now. The only time I've seen this before was when such software interfered with the serialization settings.

Does the account you're installing with have full rights to your system or is it a limited user account?

Go ahead and post a DxDiag file too please.

tide1212 -> RE: Problem With Advanced Tactics (10/28/2007 4:49:55 PM)

Hi Erik

No security software running for sure. The instalation did complete. I have full rights to the account. This is a perplexing problem. I appreciate your help sir.

The DxDiag file do you mean a proper tech support message to Matrix ? If so I did it yesterday.

Thanks Vic It's early [:)]

Well, you should update your video and sound drivers (both are from 2005), but I don't see anything there that would cause what you're seeing. I'll have to talk with someone else on our staff on Monday to see if they have any ideas. Apologies for the delay.

Thanks Erik
