Gresbeck -> Attack and action points (10/31/2007 5:27:50 PM)

I've just played the tutorial and I'me reading the manual, and I have some questions.

1. The manual says every combat round uses ten AP, and the battle ends when attackers exhaust their AP. What happens if two units with different AP attack the same hex (f.e. a unit which moved during the same turn attacks with a friendly unit which didn't move during the turn)? Does that mean that the battle starts with only one unit, and that the unit which moved enters later the battle? Or do both units attack together (in this case for the number of rounds allowed by the AP of the moving unit)?

2. Do also defending units use AP?

1.  If you attack with multiple units, they start to fall out of the battle at different times based on there AP and the casualties they take.  If the battle is not a success, all your attackers fall out before the defenders retreat or are eliminated.  Try a couple of battles and you should see this quickly.

2.  Defenders do not use AP.  However, attacks will reduce readiness that may be partially or fully recovered next turn.  If a unit was attacked, it may start the next turn with less AP.
