Xenomath -> Question: stats per subformation or per individual? (11/11/2007 4:19:19 PM)

The stats like readiness, XP and entrenchment of a formation are obviously calculated from the stats of the subformations. But are those stats atomic or are they themselves just a representation of the individual stats?
I ask especially because of XP. Let's say you have a tank with XP 70 and want to transfer a fresh tank with XP 10 from the HQ. The resulting XP for the subformation would be 40. If stats are stored for each individual, it doesn't matter.
But if not, such a transfer would be a bad idea as you effectively lose XP. The 10XP unit would have gained the XP taken from the high XP unit automatically.

the last is the case. its a good way to upgrade green troops though by mixing them with experienced troops.

Yes, Vic is right. I also prefer this method.

When i have a 60 XP plane unit and i buy 5 new planes with 0 XP (europe 1939) it is better to mix them and get
a 10 plane 30XP unit than sending the green unit with 0XP into the fire. It will usually get much higher losses.
Mixing them is a protection for the greenhorns.
I think building new Jagdgeschwader in WW2 also worked this way.
