Hi All,
let us just supose hypothetically that I may have had a few too many pre holiday beveradges and may or may not have run one of my major units aground. is their any way of getting back afloat? other than restarting the scenario.[:)]

Assuming you haven't driven your ship so far inland that she's better off put up on blocks and waiting for the polar ice caps to melt, you can probably free her by setting course for the deepest water around and pushing the engines to flank speed. Your speed will alternate between flank and zero, and maddeningly so, but if you're not too far aground you will eventually get free.

Of course, you do realize that once back in port, you may need to polish up the old curriculum vitae. [;)]Just ask Cdr Esther J. McClure. Though, ya never know, you may be lucky like Cdr Richard Farrington.[:D]

The only thing you're gonna be driving now is a waterlogged dinghy, Ensign! [:'(]

I once finished a scenario by finding SSN-21 run aground on a small rocky outcrop off the coast of England.

Ahh they probably stopped for smell of fresh fish and chips, Englands best coastal defences, the seaside chip shop!

They probably even watched their sub get pwned, not caring because they are too busy digging into their paper chip bag with their free wooden fork... bliss..

Nyet,  I won the Gold Star Flag of the Hero of the Order of the Soviet Union for my magnificent capture of the capitalistic running dog submarine.
