pculliton -> Invalid rectangle (12/2/2007 2:23:19 AM)

Hey guys. I installed CC:MT on my laptop this morning. When I attempted to start a scenario (one of my own making) I got an invalid rectangle error that dropped me to the desktop.

The laptop is a P1510 and has a native resolution of 1024x600, which the post-install setup complained about. I can't pick a new resolution in-game, which I'd imagine is probably related. Do I need to do something special?

Thanks.

What map have you created your engagement on?

can you change your resolution on the desktop before opening CoI?

Thanks for getting back to me so fast!  The map is Afghan village.

I can change the desktop resolution prior to launch but it still crashes at the same spot.  Also, changing the desktop resolution doesn't appear to have an effect on the game itself -- it appears to resize to 800x600 on launch regardless.

Thanks again.

P.S. It's CC:MT that's crashing -- haven't bought CoI yet. :)

To change screen resolution you must exit the game after making the changes and then restart it for the changes to take effect.

1024 X 768 is the lowes resolution the game will run at if I remember correctly.

Listed game requirements

  • Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista
  • 300 Mhz Processor or faster
  • Minimum 256mb (recommended 512mb; 1 Gb for Windows Vista)
  • Video Card capable 1024 x 768 or better
  • 16-Bit DirectX 9 compatible soundcard
  • Hard disk space: 1.5 Gb
  • CD-ROM
  • DirectX 9.0c
  • Optional peripheral hardware: microphone / headset / speakers to co-ordinate with your allies via any VOIP application

Thanks Andrew.  Guess I'll install it on my desktop.  Thanks!
