I have looked all over (different version manuals), but I don't see that these displays are documented as how to read and interpret them. Thanks.

The stuff from the description area on down. I check both old and new HC manuals and H2/H3 manuals and could not really find anything. Thanks.

Okay, thanks. The 'Sensors Summary' tells you what systems are active, their maximum range (in nautical miles) and their probability of detection (expressed as a percentage) against a Large target at that range. In this case, only the passive sonar is operating.

Immediately below the various radars are listed and their ranges shown in a bar graph form against representative targets of varying size (Vsmall (or Very small), Small, and Large). Again, they're shown as being non-active or 'turned off'. If you clicked that Sonar button off to the right, you'd see a similar list for all sonar systems on this platform.

The 'Weapons Summary' shows a simple inventory of the numbers of AAW (Anti-Air Warfare), ASuW (Anti-Surface Warfare) and ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare) weapons in SR (Short Range) and LR (Long Range) categories. This list will show you weapons remaining for that platform.

I am confused by these bar graphs, since aren't we talking about the curvature of the Earth. So, how can something be detected at 200nm or is that for aircraft?

That's the maximum possible range for that specific radar. It will still be affected by the radar horizon depending on the size of the unit it's on and the size/altitude of the unit it's trying to detect.

There's a couple charts in the manual with horizon ranges in a "from-to" setup (though I recall one number being a typo but you'll notice it).

In the end, you could have a radar that would pick up something from 2,000nm but it wouldn't mean jack due to the radar horizon, as you know.

The 200 nm bar is for the Type 965, an air search set, so yes we're talking about range against aircraft.
