Mhh, thatīs a question of the battlefield of course and your strategy. And with a not modified research cost multiplier (means normal research costs) you usually wonīt have the chance for that deep upgrades without getting a disadvanatge on the battlefield. On a normal ground combat map i always prefer level II infantry and light tanks II or artillery II. Often it will be useful to upgrade the fighters to keep air superiority or get it back. You have to pick all the upgrades carefully since they are expensive (investing in light tank II upgrade = 20 light tanks on the battlefield) and you have normally only limited PPīs. To develop anything to level III or IV is mostly impossible. Except you focus on that upgrade to have later a real advantage (long term). Short term you could come in trouble by doing this [;)] Errm..., i talk about PBEMīs here not the AI....
