Hoche -> Poor AI setup (12/7/2007 6:59:21 PM)

The AI setups for Austria and Prussia are really poor. The Austrian and Prussian armies are placed in easy reach of a quick French strike. They need to be placed farther back .

In my current game the Prussians setup in Magdaberg and the area between Magdeberg and Berlin. As France I simply placed a large army in Hanover under the leadership of Nappy and Murat. I spent the first 3 months scooping up minors then delcared war on Prussia in April. Guess what? The Prussian army was still in the same location. In two turns of war (3 battles and 1 seige) I wiped out the Prussian army, occupied Berlin and caputered their only two leaders.

Now Prussia did call Russia as an ally and they declared war on me. But the Prussia army was too close to me and to far from their Russian ally to be much help. With no Prussian army left and their capital occupied the Prussians surrendered unconditionally in June. I was only able to do this because of the poor prussian setup had the Prussian army been setup farther east they would have avoided my opening blitz and been able to link up with their Russian ally.

The Prussian and Austrian setup must take into account France's ability to move first and strike quick.
