I posted the message below quite a while ago and there was never any response. Maybe everyone already knew about it. In case it was overlooked, here it is again. It really is quite detailed.

<previous post>
Don't know if anyone has found this resource yet. Its at the Combined Arms Research Library (CARL)- an amazing site.

http://cgsc.cdmhost.com/cdm4/document.php?CISOROOT=/p4013coll8&CISOPTR=351&REC=3

It gives a very detailed itemization of all Japanese armed forces units/elements that were demobilized at the end of the war.

Depending on the speed of your internet it takes a while for the pdf window to actually load with the file. You will see the four parts in the side bar - part two is most interesting for army orbat.

In part 3 it also gives a break down of aircraft production by producer on a monthly basis for the whole war. The info for the Navy is even more detailed and it states monthly aircraft production by aircraft type starting from 1942.

This part also includes maps and listings of all operational airfields, including Kamikaze.

Thats prety freaking amasing, reading it now, I wounder how many opf those troops Russia alowed to come home...I had never sean a figure for how many they captured.

Give the sight some time and you will be rewarded....

TY for the link.

It is interesting to read, though I gota say that I would asume that while this very detailed it is likely no 100% corect.

Interesting to read over the figures from the French area of responsabality:

100% disarmed and 99% reparated...

I read whear the French actualy put the Japanese Army to work fighting the Comunists goralis for a perioud...

MHQ had an article in it recently that detailed how ex Japanese army personel help to train and advise them on how to fight the French and how they used a fair amount of Japanese equipment(arms) to fight the French...

Of course their were a lot of ex German Falshimajer in the French Forgine Legion fighting in indo china as well... Amasing huh...

el cid again -> RE: Great info on Japanese OOB 1945 for AE Team (12/10/2007 2:11:31 PM)

It is working now - or there is a problem with your service - either way it should be generally accessable.

I think that any piece written by Brady would cause a spellchecker to crash! [:'(]

I'll assume you meant to write Fallschirmjaeger :). Ah, well, from what I've heard the Foreign Legion was solidly ex-Waffen-SS from the end of the war right to the early sixties...
