Thanks to a superb IA move (let the french Fleets move first and block London where GB has all its own fleet), I've crossed the Channel, and 3 months later took London.
All GB fleets are destroyed.. and then IA surrenders

I had 3 corps in London area, one in Edimburgh, and one garrison in cardiff ( so i can ask for provinces)
After the war, i'm glad to have Scotland, Wales with 3 Corps in it .. and there's no harbor there.. sounds like i have to wait for 18 months to use them again :(

Reminds me of my first game.

The spanish player, also a newbee, solemnly declared that as a catholic nation the Papacy was rightfully his.

We all agreed and laughed at his pale expression when he discovered that he had half of his army stuck in harbourless Rome.

Cheers

A lot of time when you take provinces it helps to take forced access [;)]

Forced access helps when fighting a major power but this was only the minor of Papacy.

In this case it was right from the start of the game. Remember that you can disembark in any coastal area but need a harbour to embark your troops again - that got the Spanish stuck!!!

Cheers

Papacy has 3 neighbors to declare war on, Britain does not. Enforced access from Britain would have let frayaka walk to a port. Same thing for the other majors. You can get locked up easily. That is why I said if you take provinces it helps to take forced access too.
