Is it possible to mod in visible city/location names?
Or did I just fail to find the settings for that?

Yes its possible:
Open the editor. First click on the city you want to rename. Then click on the default cityname on the right side of the screen (the little info box). A window pops up & you can change the name to whatever you want.

How does the city text become visible on map?
I mean that I want city labels to be on top of the city graphics.

Yes...its possible,
The only way to do so is to create a graphic label for each city and add them to the map editor... hard work....[:(]

In v1.1, you can automatically have labels appear on the map.  Nice way to identify rivers and such.

Thanks for that.  It's funny how much it adds to the 'feel' of the map to have labels.  Hopefully font, font size, and color are customistable, so we can give different areas different labels (little white names for cities, big dark blue names for oceans, etc.)

Good idea Fintilgin. No more making the labels myself for AAR´s using paint programs.....
