Here's something that has been bugging me for ages! Of course it may be my fault![;)]

I get my formation all set up as I create a scenario. Then, when I play the scenario, the planes that I selected to be on patrol are there but so are a bunch of others I never selected! [:@] Is there something I'm doing wrong? I usually have to go into the formation as the game begins and delete all the patrols that the game set up for me and leave the ones that I had selected to be on patrol when I created or edited the scenario. Then of course, those planes aren't available for another hour or so. Help please!

This could be happening if you have 'Automatic Formation Air Patrols' checked as yes starting the scenario. These are the patrols set in the SE by the designer. If you want to set patrols yourself, make sure the auto patrol option is set to 'No' when you start the scenario.

So if I have designed or edited a scenario and have set the patrols as I want them, I should select No to the auto option when I start?

Something sounds fishy to me :).  Is it by chance exactly double the patrols you set in the SE?

No, not at all. For instance, in the scenario I am running now, I have 24 Lightning IIs with an Intercept load-out. I have 2 groups of 2 on patrol in my formation with the remaining 20 on the ship. Within 30 seconds of the opening of the scenario, the game has launched nearly all of them within the formation. Additionally, I have Osprey's set to ASW. I have 12 total with 3 on patrols and 9 on the ship, the game launches my patrols plus the remaining on other patrols. It's driving me crazy! [:@]

Where is that option? I have checked for it but couldn't find it. Is that option in HCE or is that a function in Harpoon III?

It's part of the options before you get into the scenario itself.
