It's official. I am old as dirt. Turned 40 today and not exactly loving it. Now, I need each of you to buy 10 copies of PureSim.

That is all.

Shaun

CBeasley37 -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 2:48:35 PM)

Happy 40th Shaun!

Go out and celebrate all day!
Well.....At least a few hours, then get back to working on Puresim 09. :)

Chris

Taz0713 -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 3:18:23 PM)

Happy Birthday Shaun.

The Big 4-0 isn't that bad.  I found it earlier this year and survived.  What scares me is that my wife will find be there next year and she already isn't handling it well.  [:D]

jzicc -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 3:23:46 PM)

you got me by 3 months ---- Happy Birthday ---- 40 is the new 30....

Wrathchild -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 4:21:18 PM)

I'll be there in 3 months myself. I think I may have finally come to grips with it. Of course, that's probably going to change the day it actually arrives. I'll have to go buy a Ferrari and get myself a 21 year old girlfriend.

Nukester -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 5:09:16 PM)

Happy Birthday Shaun !

I just turned 38 last month, and I got to tell you, before I turned 35 I felt like I was still 25 and a spring chicken. Once I turned 35 it felt like I got hit my a train

GNDN -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 7:36:59 PM)

Happy birthday, it has been a year and a half since that milepost went whizzing by for me.  Like Taz, though, my wife will be 40 in the spring and is currently in the denial stage.

PadresFan104 -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 7:39:03 PM)

Happy Birthday Shaun!!

40 is staring me in the face as well.  Hell, I was freaking out about my 39th birthday 2 months ago, so I'm going to be a wreck come next year...

Frozen Stiffer -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 8:30:01 PM)

I never felt so young before. Gee, you guys are old.

[:D]

A babe at 33, I don't know the feeling of hitting the 4-decade mark, but I'm sure if we look at it a different way, it might FEEL longer.

For example, 40 years is about 14,600 days... that's plenty of time to work out the AI trade logic. [8|]

Alternately, 40 years is the same as 350,400 hours. Do you know how many years you could have GBG managed? Slacker. [X(]

That comes out to about 21,024,000 minutes. Seriously, now. With all that time, you couldn't develop a FaceGen program? Goodness, it's like working with amateurs.   [:'(]

If we're going to get that technical, might as well acknowledge the fact that 40 years would be more or less 1,261,440,000 seconds. That's plenty of time to chug through enough beer!  [sm=00000436.gif]

Besides, in your lifetime the BoSox have won 2 World Series. If your 40 years would have been 40 years ago, you would have suffered through the pennant drought!!   [:-]

I guess in the end... it's all about fate. You were destined to do this, destined to accomplish the amazing wonders you have overcome, destined to create the greatest baseball simulator in the world, and perhaps maybe... just maybe... destined to give me a free copy of PS2008 for my birthday next year.

See? Fate knows exactly what it's doing.

[:)]

Bustoff -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 9:40:53 PM)

FS, wanna feel even younger? I turned 57 in October. When I turned 40, my body demanded the back rent--all 40 years worth--and I couldn't pay it. I thought I had beat the system...how could a whole decade of drugs, alcohol, loud music and no sleep possibly hurt me, ever? What goes around, comes around. Thank God I married a nurse. [:D]

At a cookout last summer, I realized that "guy talk" at backyard parties changes by decades.

In your 20s, it's who you nailed last week
In your 30s, it's what your cute kids did/said last week
In your 40s, it's what happened at work last week
In your 50s, it's what your doctor told you last week
In your 60s, it's who died last week
In your 70s, it's...who am I?

Happy birthday, Shaun. You are now entering the old age of youth and the youth of old age.

SirWolf1960 -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 10:14:01 PM)

Ah, 40. I remember it fondly. 47 ain't too bad either, to be honest with you.

Happy birthday, buddy!
Steve

LetsPlay2 -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/13/2007 11:11:45 PM)

KG Erwin -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 1:08:00 AM)

Bah, turning 40 wasn't a big deal to me, and to be honest, neither was turning 50. We are in the "age doesn't matter" era -- the important thing is what you do with your time. I am in no position to offer advice on lifestyles, but staying productive and enjoying life is all that really matters.

Happy 40th, Shaun. This crew will not allow you to become an old codger, that's a guarantee. We're already taking up collections to buy you a lifetime supply of Ensure and Viagra (just kidding). [sm=00000622.gif]

dneely -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 2:09:00 AM)

Happy Birthday to Shaun (just a kid)

You guys who panic about turning 40, that was a piece of cake. I just turned 60 and I AM OFFICIALLY OLDER THAN DIRT! But to be honest, except for diabetes, high blood pressure, having gallbladder surgery on Dec 21st, a prostate biopsy and a nasty cold right now I feel pretty good. Heck for me 40 was so long ago I can barely remember what it was like!............but I can barely remember what yesterday was like.

[>:][>:][>:]

what was I talking about???

Can I buy tickets in advance to the DNeely Comedy Tour?

DonBraswell -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 3:29:29 AM)

Happy Birthday Shaun. 40 was easy, 50 didn't hurt either and next March 60 will not be to hard either. But...... I wouldn't mind being 40 or 50 again either.
Don

RedSox67 -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 4:21:19 AM)

Happy Birthday Shaun!  You're officially a survivor.  And it doesn't get worse ... or better.  Just different.

RedSox67 -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 4:24:41 AM)

And I'm sure you're not telling those of us that have already hit that milestone that we're old as dirt.  Well, at least you didn't ask us to buy 40 copies.

puresimmer -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 5:56:20 AM)

Well, it was a good day, so I guess that counts for something.

...And I still look 39.

dneely -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 6:32:38 AM)

BTW my doctor told me the other day that 60 today is the new 40.....I still don't quite know what that means.

And yes my Vegas lounge tour is starting any day now! Tickets are going fast, so don't miss out. I had planned to have some strippers but the wife said NO!

Oh well back to PureSim.

rjolley -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 6:59:44 AM)

Happy birthday, Shaun. Got it in just in time.

Lefty -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 7:06:57 AM)

Happy Birthday Shaun!

I'm 42 now and I truly believe that you are only as old as you feel!

Of course, I feel like I'm 72...

Lefty

motnahp -> RE: The big 4 - 0 (12/14/2007 7:07:45 AM)

Happy birthday, Shaun. I'll be glad to buy the 10 copies........one per year for each of the next 10 years.[sm=character0231.gif]

May you and yours also have a great holiday season.
