There are alot, and I mean ALOT of user made mods (battles)
for both the ACW and NIR on this website, unfortunately, they
are not accessable (either the links are dead or they don't seem
to be downloadable). I've written to the site owner numerous
times, but have never gotten a response from him. I don't
suppose anybody has either information on this, or, good grief,
has some of these to download. Some of them look pretty good.
Seems like a waste of alot of hard work. They have to exist
somewhere, right?
Thanks.

I would suggest the American Civil War Gamer's Club (ACWGC.com).

I have most of the Napoleonic scenarios, just waiting for Matrix to provide space for downloading.

Good stuff Murat30, thanks very much for the link.

Thanks Caliban, I've tried that site and it's very good,
but the selection of downloads is very limited.

MartNick, please let us know when you find a d/l location,
I, for one, am very interested. There are actually quite a
few sites out there, I have no idea of the costs involved...
in any event, if or when you find something, please send
a note to gregb143@charter.net
I don't get in here very often.

Best Regards

The graphics in many of the NIR Project games are quite stunning.

Here's an example. Units from the Marengo module:

norsemanjs -> RE: NIR website (1/1/2008 8:30:25 PM)

Anyone have explanation of how to install these with the Matrix version of Battleground.  For example Marengo asks to install CD into drive.  And scenarios like Montmiral....where do you put the files.

I suppose it's simple but I just haven't gotten it figured out.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

pjsynnott -> RE: NIR website (1/3/2008 7:29:27 PM)

Hello Norseman,

Try the following:

1. Copy your Matrix Napoleon in Russia game to another location.

2. Copy the "Main" files into the root NIR folder and overwrite where prompted. N.B. if unzipping, uncheck the option to recreate folders/path.

3. Copy the "Game" and "Map" files into one of the games subfolders and overwrite where prompted. N.B. do not rename the game subfolder into which you are copying the files e.g. to "Ma" for Marengo. If you do this, either the game will not see the folder or the program will ask you for the CD, depending on which version of the game executable you're using. In short, for whichever NIR Project game you're playing, it will have to go into a subfolder called BD, FF, SU etc, or CA, WL, PL etc if it's meant to be used with the BGW game.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you still have problems after this.

Paul

I might have any that you might be missing - I obtained 12 CDs full from JMB a few years ago.

Thank you very much for the instruction.

You've been very helpful.

lancerunolfsson -> RE: NIR website (1/5/2008 2:13:29 AM)

I have down loaded several of these form the links above. But the only one that is complete is the Marengo. The ballance have the Game module files so you can play the game but you are getting stuff like spanish with French and Prussian unit graphics for Baylen etc. Because the files that go in the main game folder are not there.

Dear igor7111, you can reach Mr Jean-marie Barbier via email which is located on the NIR page or by MSN Messenger. He is a really good guy and will help you as best he can. The scenarios that are not downloadable from the website can be purchased from him in a downloadable format for around $7.00 ea.
