Scipio Africanus -> Getting a black map? READ THIS (9/15/2000 12:24:00 PM)

I just got a black map at the start of an email game- here's the scoop...
I had just been playing a campaign game and decided to start an email game with my dad; everything was fine in the campaign, so I was surprised to find a black map show up for the email game.
I thought about it for a second and then remembered the new "play mode" selection screen that comes up when you first start the game- you know "solitaire; email; internet; etc."
Needless to say, I hadn't returned to the play mode selection screen when I bailed from my campaign, I had only returned to the familiar menu with "start; Battle; Scenario; exit; etc." on it.
So I restarted the game and selected the proper mode- voila! a nice looking green and brown map appears for my next email game.
So, if you get the blank map- make sure that you are selecting the proper mode of play when you start, and if you switch modes, be sure to restart the game...
