When Vichy is created, Syria becomes a WA controlled region automatically. This has sort of bugged me for some time, as has the lack of the Brit attack on the French fleet in North Africa.

Here's a little proposal:

Keep Syria Frozen/Vichy.
Move the French fleet (or portion thereof TBD) in South France to Algeria.
Reduce the US WR increase from the creation of Vichy by 1

Allow the Brits to occupy Syria & strike the French fleet in Algeria (with a air power, since a port attack cannot be made by naval surface forces.)
Make this action or any separate part, if done alone increase US WR by 1.

DO NOT make these actions result in an unfrozen Vichy.

I have no idea if this is doable.........
clearly it would have to be worked into either GGWaWGG or UV.

I like this idea for a few reasons:

It encourages historical play and presents a bit of realism.
It gives the WA player a choice to make in a time when they are largely reacting to events.

Note: This concept is more or less the same thing as the whole "Madagascar" idea of Jesse's........

It is rather difficult. A lot of this is core game rules (not at all modable), which Joel doesn't want changed. Having an attack on a Vichy territory not result in Vichy joining the Axis is also a special case.

Global Glory tries to deal with the Vichy situation in Syria with a political event that flips it to Axis unless it is garrisoned by the WA. IMO, this gets fairly close to historical.
