When I use the Post a new thread or the reply to post options 80% of the time it causes a crash to desktop. I can use the fast reply and I do not have this problem. Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Hi okami, I've had that happen a few times - but only when I've spent 10-plus minutes writing into the text box (almost always when I'm posting to my AARs). I've taken to writing what I want to post in Word and the copying it into the window. Just my 2-cents... [8\|]

Internet Explorer, this only started happening two weeks ago and I have not added anything to my computer in over a month so I know it is not upgrades or new installs.

Don't know if this is related, but when I'm on the forum, my CPU is always running on 100% . [&:]

LOL, yes it does drop, to a whopping 85%... Why would a forum be so hard on CPU? [&:]

Firefox, never had any trouble with it. I have the same trouble both at home and work.When I have WitP on and forum in the background, it takes forever to scroll the map. Come to think of it, I have the same CPU on both machines, AMD Barton... hmmm...

How much memory do your machines have? i am guessing if you have <1 gig, the CPU is going to be kept a lot busier moving data around and so will show a high usage.

Well, I have 512MB dual channel on each, but these machines run some pretty demanding software without a glitch, and without reaching 100% of CPU strenght. Why would Matrix forum be such a strain on them? They are old, but not THAT old...

What kind of usage are you getting if you are looking at (say) Google?

With Photoshop and tv card running, I have maybe 25-30%. With only open browser at any other site, it's about 3%. Maybe Matrix is conducting some secret experiment on me? [:D]

[:D] This is strange... i run either IE7 or Firefox - neither has anything like this usage (esp if i scroll down from the "snowflakes"). For instance - just now checked with IE7 - it flutters around 0-2% usage. EDIT: Firefox gives similar results... i notice that things vary a lot more when i move the cursor around a lot.

[:D] Have you tried turning off all other applications running and seeing your usage then? It does seem strange that the Matrix forums goble up so much of your resources. The cause will likely be obvious once you find. Good luck.
