Saedor -> Thoughts on a new league (1/4/2008 1:09:54 PM)

Hiya, I'm pretty new here... I've had the game about a week, and am looking to start a small single player league just for fun. How does this sound...

The International Arena League (IAL); 12 teams in 3 divisions
Standard Arena rules (8 man teams, 20 man rosters)

American Division;
--------------------------
Washington Continentals
Ottowa Voyageurs
Mexico City Aztecs
a Brazilian team, not yet named

European Division;
-----------------------------
London Monarchs
Paris Musketeers
German and Italian teams, not yet named

Pacific Division;
-----------------------------
Tokyo Samurai
Canberra Diggers
South Korean and Taiwanese teams, not yet named

Each team will have custom uniforms and probably a few custom players. Basic playbooks to start, as I haven't even started learning the PDS yet. :)

Does this sound reasonable for a beginner?

(edit; I'm open to suggestions on the names for the as-yet unnamed teams... you can kinda see my theme from the other team names)

I would say yes. keep it simple at home and then branch out once you get a feel for the game.

there are a ton of ad on uniforms on FB Max if you need them along with Stadiums and Playbooks

Yeah that's a good start

I started my first league with 6 teams and now it's up to 24

been hesitant to add more because it's taking longer to wrap up each week. [8D]

Saedor,

That's a good start.  Some players want to jump into a 32 team league right away and get blown away with trying to keep up with it.  Twelve teams should be just fine, and that is a pretty cool way to have them sorted.

Having three divisions will make the original schedule more difficult, but once you have one, it will be easier to do.
