This time the French President himself explains the details of a great victory against the Spanish aggressors in the battle of Carcassone. A Spanish armoured formation was almost anihilated with very little losses on the French side. In North Africa a successful airstrike also was able to convert a Spanish armoured formation into smoking rubble.

Ih a political side note the Preisdent noted, that it hs to be seen what comes out of the regime change in Italy. Framce is waiting for a first diplomatic depeche from Italy to determine its future attitude towards this new regime. Of course French assumes, that the city of Munich will be soon be returned to their  owners as a guesture of peace from the Italian government.

We cannot allow our Spanish allies to suffer the unarranted agression from the French, we have bombarded french coastal towns in retaliation.

BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (1/24/2008 3:33:55 PM)

Sounds like all out war has started [X(]

all5n -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (1/24/2008 7:50:52 PM)

The battle at Carcassone continues.

Spanish air power continues to dominate in the south of france, and with some well placed artillery 2 French units there have been significantly reduced.  The damaged armored units made a tactical withdrawal for reinforcements.

In africa a French infantry unit was all but wiped out by naval bombardment and an assault by 2 infantry units.  The last river between our forces and algiers has been crossed.

Looking at the total losses for the war so far, they are about even on both sides.

It is a dire day for Germany. Balkan forces have attacked the Fatherland on 3 fronts. Also, the Treacherous Italians, who were supposed to be our friends have joined the Balkans in an all out assault. Their main aim seems to be the cities of Munich and Warsaw. It is not a good day to be a Nazi. We have so many borders and nations to stop [:(]. Private Hanz following a major artillery bombardment of Italian 150mm's swallowed his wurst too quickly and suffered a loss of lung functions and sadly died. He has been buried with full honours. The evil Italian-Baltico Alliance will seemingly stop at nothing [:-]. I am retiring to Woolfs Lair to assess the military situation [>:]

In spite of a massive Nazi propaganda campaign both abroad and within the provinces of Italy, efforts are underway to establish a new Republic of Italy. Hardline elements of the previous Mussolini regime have been effectively removed from power, temporarily weakening the government and military even as a swell of hope begins to rise among the Italian people. A wave of charitable compassion for refugees fleeing the Nazi atrocities welcomes the impoverished throngs sweeping across the borders from Nazi occupied territories hoping to find food and shelter.

Military forces report only token resistance in their movements toward Warsaw, however the casualty count continues to rise in efforts to free the captive city from German occupation. As the fledgling Republic struggles to find footing and provide even the most basic services and government, Italian diplomats begin to work their way toward valued friends and allies hoping to calm tensions and re-establish strained diplomatic ties. The Nazi propaganda has been effective in efforts to portray the Italian humanitarian rescue operations as open aggression and hostilities. Italy welcomes any who wish to aid or oversee humanitarian efforts with the refugee camps as tens of thousands continue to flee the Nazi war machine.

Presidential elections are still weeks away as the hopes and prayers of all faithful Italians go forth on behalf of their sons and brothers on foreign soil.

The French President is shocked by the treachery and back stabbing attacl of Great Britain to our coast line. We will do all the neccessary steps to defend our homeland from this cowardly attack.

mllange -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (2/1/2008 7:20:45 AM)

Exhausted Italian troops report the welcome news that for the moment at least, the brave Czech city of Prague has been taken back from the Nazi occupation forces although strong opposition forces remain on the outskirts. While Czech refugees find their hopes lifted the world anxiously awaits word of the struggle that surely lies ahead to hold the shattered hulk of this once proud metropolis. On the Western front, Italian troops strengthened their supply lines moving into Stuttgart without encountering any German resistance.

Within Prague herself, International agencies embedded with Italian units report evidence of human atrocities by the Nazis on a scale never before seen in human history as they move through the tattered remains of city streets and crumbled buildings. Fears continue to mount that these reports are only token indicators of what will be found as the rescue forces move deeper into Poland and other occupied lands in the weeks and months ahead.

MrLongleg -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (2/2/2008 12:46:45 AM)

The French president announces, that he will take a well earned vacation until Feb 9th including.

BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (2/2/2008 12:52:43 PM)

Have a nice holiday [;)]

SlowHand -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (2/3/2008 6:30:46 AM)

Enjoy your honeymoon, mon President.

News Flash: Russia has reluctantly been forced to join the hostilities. Bridges blown, disrupting esential trade? Tsk, tsk. Newsreels will be made available by "next turn," which will be turn 7 I think?

Btw, who's had the turn the last few days?

Go Giants !

MrLongleg -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (2/10/2008 9:27:52 PM)

The French President comes back from his honeymoon just to find out that the Spanish aggressors used that well earned break for a treachery attack. The answer of the French forces won't wait for a long time. The Spanish army will have to pay a high price for every inch a French ground.

Franco wishes me to report that despite a well fought resistance, Tunisia has been taken by the Spanish.

Multi-turn naval bombardment was able to weaken the defenses enough for ground troops to force the withdrawal of the french forces.

MrLongleg -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (2/27/2008 1:06:46 AM)

The French president is very busy with his new love, so that there is not much time for leading the forces. But soon the joneymoon will be over and then Spain will be removed from the map rapidly [:@]

all5n -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (3/4/2008 6:55:30 PM)

The french navy, while bombarding the sunbathers in barcelona, was taken by surprise by the spanish fleet and lost with all hands.

GrumpyMel -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (3/5/2008 7:19:55 PM)

Stay tuned for an important broadcast from Radio Free Scandinavia

"A spokesman for the Royal Scandinavian Armed Forces announced this morning that a flight of Russian Fighter Aircraft violated Scandinavian airspace. Their destination and intention remain unkown but experts speculate that it is unlikely that the incursion was accidental as it was far from the combat area near the polish border where such confusion might be understandable. The aircraft ignored repeated warnings to turn back and SAAB interceptors were finaly forced to engage and shoot down the offending craft.

In a public statement following the incident the Foriegn Minister indicated that while Scandinavia harbors no ill intent toward the Kremlin, it will defend it's borders and airspace from unwanted incursion.

In other news, streams of refugees continue to cross the border into the Baltic states in an effort to escape the confused and heavy fighting in Poland, Germany and Hungary. Local humantarian services have been strained to the breaking point due to this vast influx....and millitary police units have been dispatched to the border in an effort to bring the situation under control."

SlowHand -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (3/6/2008 3:34:02 AM)

The Tsar begs Scandinavia's Pardon. The single Russian aircraft was merely checking to see if the Scandinavian Subs seen just outside St. Petersburg were in need of assistance --- we didn't expect your Intercept Setting to be set to such a hair trigger.

Given our hitherto peaceable neighborly relations, the Tsar is in favor of a Moratorium on Scouting in the Gulf of Finland. By planes and Subs.

MrLongleg -> RE: 9 Player Diplomacy (nooobs only) (3/29/2008 4:50:21 PM)
