AresMars -> Victory Point Totals (1/21/2008 9:01:36 PM)

I noticed that the actual point total of VP collected is not shared, only the percentage of total.

Being an old skool EiA player, I like to calculate my VP average needed each turn/economic turn to see how I can influence my PSA to see if gaining (or losing) PP would have an impact on VP collection. (Doesn't everyone? [;)] )

It is possible to have the ACTUAL VP collect displayed when you mouse over the % report?

Good idea.

Yes of course ....

It's one of the (lot of) things which could be improved !!!

Ted1066 -> RE: Victory Point Totals (1/22/2008 1:15:06 AM)

You can view your current VPs in the Show Nation Statistics screen (the same place where you view your upcoming ground reinforcements), if that's any help.

Cheers,

Ted

Ted1066,

Hey, that is good info - thanks!  I have been staring at it for awhile but never saw the VP total there.

At least I am 14.28% there.....now for the other 6 nations...any other secrets up that sleeve of yours?

You really don't think that an old hand like me would not be doing the same calculations for the other 6 opponents?  [:-]

There are times where forcing certain events (like a DOW) that leads to a cascade of CALL TO ALLIES is just the thing you need.....  [;)] [:D]

I still like the _ mouse over _ idea on the appropiate screen idea..... (hint, hint, hint Marshall)

The game log gave me a list of every single MPs VP total awarded in the econ phase.

pzgndr -> RE: Victory Point Totals (1/23/2008 3:02:26 PM)

I made a suggestion a while back that the VP screen could be color coded.  Yellow for being on track with VPs needed for victory (say 20% +/-1% at the 20% mark), green for being ahead and red for being behind.  A quick simple visual would be helpful.

AresMars -> RE: Victory Point Totals (1/23/2008 5:52:23 PM)

Murat,

Why should we dig through the logs each time and record the data ourselves when the data exists already and is presented in a very simple way?

If France and Prussia are both at 99%, it would be important to know how much VP are required to win...the answer of 1% is not specific enough.  As 1% varies greatly from MP to MP.

It calculates (current total/required total) to give you a % - Just list the current total (the data is saved already somewhere) through a mouse over...simple I should think.

Perhaps, it should BE displayed as an actual VP total and the % be shown (and perhaps color coded as suggested by pzgndr) as a mouse over....

Murat -> RE: Victory Point Totals (1/23/2008 6:03:24 PM)

I misunderstood your question. I thought you were asking how to find out how much VP each nation earned each econ which is in the game log, not the total amount earned so far in the game which would be a nice feature to have.

Soapy Frog -> RE: Victory Point Totals (1/23/2008 6:21:05 PM)

Yeah actually all that info should be presented in one place.

gwheelock -> RE: Victory Point Totals (1/23/2008 6:48:42 PM)

The best way that I can suggest would be to add some "radio buttons" to the
"Victory Point Status" screen so that the "VPs" bar could be toggled between
"%" and "#" (actual number collected).

As an addtional enhancement; add a check box :
"Include projections".  If this box is checked; the program will calculate the PROJECTED
vps at the end of the game instead of just the current vps

ProjectedVPTotal = CurrentVPTotal + (CurrentVPCollection * NoRemainingQuarters)
(CurrentVPCollection  is the number being collected from the current standing on the
political status chart)
