File Name :: Max FB Database Editor v 1.5.2
Author :: JDhalfrack
Description

Uninstall the old version before installing this newer version!

MAKE A BACKUP before using this program. I am not promising that there will be no errors/bugs that will ruin the file.

CHANGE LOG v 1.5
(This is not a major update... just a final "fix-up" of a few things before David releases the 2.2 update)
- Changed the way the program loads the player names (this should speed up the load times)
- Fixed an issue with some global edit options not changing the height, weight, or age
- Fixed a potential issue with player heights causing the editor to not load the league file properly
- Fixed an issue with my internal "Random()" function (an issue that probably wasn't even noticed)
- Added a "Randomly assign value" option to the global edits
- Added the option to use a "Normal distribution" when globally randomly assigning values
- Added the option to globally edit skills based on teams (along with the position option that is already available)
- Added a check to see if changes were made since opening a database or since the last save when exitting the program

CHANGE LOG v 1.5.1
- Fixed and issue with the program not recognizing that changes were made if applying global edits
- Added a message to the progress bar to inform you that global edits have been completed
- I remembered (hopefully) to package all active-x components...

CHANGE LOG v 1.5.2
- Fixed a "Divide by Zero" Error with the normal distribution random generator
- Added the option to apply global edits to "ALL SKILLS" at once

THINGS THAT DO NOT WORK:
- Currently, anything that is "greyed out" is there because I plan on doing work on it in the future, but it not accessible right now. It's easier to add the structure when adding other things, so that's why it's in the program.

THINGS THAT I AM CURRENTLY (STILL) WORKING ON:
- code for viewing / editing all other player images
- code for adding a new player through the editor
- code for exporting / importing rosters (don't hold your breath for this happening soon)
- the "Teams" tab (basically... an editor for teams)
- the "Stats" portions of the editor are basically complete, but with the new Max FB update 2.2 coming out soon, I will release it with my first update after the 2.2 release

When using this program, clicking the "Temp Save" button saves the data on the current selection to the program, but not the database. To make all changes permanent (aka, save them to the database), goto Database --> Save.

I am aware of the current list of suggestions/addons and am working as fast as I can to incotperate everything. Just a heads up, though, anything involving extracting/importing is easy code, but takes a LOT of time setting up the correct format. So, those types of functions will come around later.

Goodluck and Enjoy!

You rock.

Seriously.

Go Illini!

Saedor -> RE: [UTILITY] Max FB Database Editor v 1.5 (1/25/2008 9:49:17 AM)

I uninstalled the older version, installed this version and when I try to run it  I get this message;

component 'MSFLXGRD.OCX' or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

Marauders -> RE: [UTILITY] Max FB Database Editor v 1.5 (1/25/2008 10:24:11 AM)

I did too.

Google the file and then download it into the windows/system directory.

Damnit.... That's my fault. I must have forgotten to include it with the packaging. The good news is that you can just do what Marauders said. I will release a version 1.5.1 before the end of the morning that includes the file. Sorry [:(].

JD

EDIT: So, I'm trying to figure out why it is asking you for the MSFLXGRD.ocx (which is the Flex Grid Active-x component) because I don't use it... Then I realized it's because of the stats editting and schedule editting... I use it for that. You see, what you can't see behind the greyed out tabs is that there is actually a LOT of stuff (like a partially complete schedule editor, a partially complete schedule editor, and a stats editor). So, ironically, the component you need is for something you can't even do yet... sorry...

EDIT #2: I updated the program. It should be okay now...

EDIT #3: In version 1.5.1, I fixed it so the top "mean" label under "ACTUALS" says "min." I must have copied and pasted the "mean" label and forgot to changed the text ... whoops!

I'm not 100% sure I understand the question. But, I guess I need to make sure that you are SAVING the databse. "Temp Save" only saves the changes in the editor. Are you remembering to save?

If this doesn't help, let me know.
