Hi, how often do you send home critical damaged capital ships??? I can easly let go DD or TR or even a 40-50 sys damaged CA but a BB or CV's it pain me to see them go ´cause I know they wont be back in 3-4 months, often more... So I usually put them in Rabaul/Truk or Numea/Brisbane using them as a slow carrier force when I am launching big operations, even if they have a 30-45 sys damage...

Unless you're at the end of the game, any ship w/critical damage should be sent back; when it returns, it will not only be repaired, but usu. upgraded as well.

In a long scenario, I will send back any ship w/system damage of around 25 or more, as well as ships w/floatation damage in the red.

Hi Joe,

I guess you´re referring to the Allied side of the game... since as Japanese you cannot expect to get back certain replacements - especially later in the game (after Nov 42).
But of course there is no worth at all to have big ships sitting around with much more than 35...40 sys damage. Smaller units, which get kinda faster rate of repair, I keep at Truk or Rabaul from case to case.
