Rodak -> Can't play this game (1/28/2008 9:33:33 AM)

I love this game. I'm another FB Pro guy from way back. But, I can't play it, I just have so many problems with it. I'm frustated.

I have to play in windows mode. Otherwise, I can only see half the screen in the menu. I could live with that if that was it, but I have a bunch of other strange things going on.

I play the game (3d part) and all is good, until all of a sudden the offense break the huddle and all the players converge on the ball and dance around until delay of game is called(not the defense, just the offense).

I also have the sort of issues in the play editor. QB will go under center, dance, and not take the snap. Or, for some reason, the TE in a 3 pt stance will do it and I have to exit out since I cannot snap the ball.

I really do like the game, I just wish I could get it to work.

Thank you for posting.

All right, let's take this one from the top:

Which CPU does your computer have?
How much memory does your computer have?
Which graphics card does your computer have?
Which operating system does your computer run?

Which build of Maximum Football are you attempting to run?
Which resolution are you attempting to run games in?

Hi.

The problem you describe of the players converging on the ball sounds like one of the play files has become corrupted. Especially if it's an 'all of a sudden' thing. That leads me to believe that specific play needs to be called for it to happen. Have you tried reinstalling the game?

The other potential cause could simply be the system. The only other reports of 'dancing' players were traced down to the game being run on systems that were well under the minimum system requirements (or there was some other application running hogging the system resources).

Marauders questions are a good start. We'd need those answered first please before we'll be able to help out. I'd also like to know if you're running multiple monitors. And are you using the most recent drivers for your video card.

thanks
David

I've seen wacky stuff with a bad play, also make sure you have your depth chart set. I added a new playbook to a team once and when I started a game, the players all converged on the ball and did nothing.

Okay, I've had this cpu so long I forgot what I had.

It is an intel pent 4 with 128 ram. I'm running XP and fbmax 2.0. I run a GeForce5200 with latest drivers

A bad play would make sense I thinK, at least in the game. But I'm having trouble in the play editor with plays I'm making from scratch.

I did just re-install and have the same issues.

Thanks

Can you please attached a DirectX Diagnostic File. The instructions to do that are here:

128MB of total system RAM or 128MB RAM on the graphics card?

128MB system RAM is low for any 3D application using XP as the OS.

The GeForce 5200 should have 128MB RAM on board.  Is this an Ultra card or standard?  The GForce 5200 can run the game, but it cannot run it with high resolution and advance shadows.  Even then, I'd recommend upgrading the graphics card.

Not sure why, but I installed on my other cpu and it works great. Not sure why the game dosn't like that cpu but I'm not worried about it.

Great job with the game, thanks

Thank you for the follow up.

If the other system only had 128MB system RAM, then it wouldn't run much for 3D software.

I am glad to see you are up and running.
