I bought this game bought in May of last year and finally got around to reading the manual and starting my first campaign as the Union with all of the Advanced rules turned on.
Early in 1862, I'm still figuring some things and the AI has defeated me in most of my battles, but I'm really enjoying playing this game. The strategic part of the game is interesting while the tactical battles are play out. The economic and political areas of the game also have me grinning. At least the method of handling containers was a bit of a chore to understand, but now with some experience, I find the container system very logical and easy to use.
Kudos to Eric and Matrix Games for FoF! Looking forward to the big update to CoG.
