When a friendly cavalry unit charge on an enemy artillery unit the result is uncrewed the arty unit.....how must to capture the enemy cannons?????

Do you have to use infantry?

Well even if you for some reason can't capture thme, you should be able to spike them. At least have a certain percentage of chance to spike them. I don't remember a game where you could actually capture guns and then use them, as was done on quite a few occasions.

No, in the Battleground series you cannot capture guns and use them. When meleed with by infantry the guns vanish.

It's only in the HPS games where you can elect to have the guns spiked or captured and used by the enemy.

Thanks all.....but in the manual talk over captured arty and supply wagons, and i used infantry in an adjacent hex with same result....

You can't capture artillery in the battleground games.  But you can eliminate them easily;

First overrun them with your cavalry so they become uncrewed, but move the cavalry past them so they are not in the same hex.  Then charge another cavalry unit up to the uncrewed battery (but not into the hex).  In your melee phase, melee the uncrewed guns, and they will be eliminated.

Supply wagons can be captured, you just have to melee them and you get them.  They do lose strength when you melee them though.
