They want to kill Elves and are Bad because Orcs are just like that In these politically sensitive and politcally correct times I am not sure whether these were racist comments. [sm=00000506.gif] Heh, blame it on Tolkien. Compare something like George R.R. Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" series to the Lord of the Rings and this is what you tend to get: Song of Ice and Fire: Many different characters competing for a crown, all with flaws and redeeming characteristics, some more brutal than others, loads of intrigue, different motives for different characters behind their actions (no one is "evil" simply because they're some sort of fantasy-eqsue Satan Incarnate character), and a deep, involving storyline. LOTR: We're the Good Guys! The Bad Guys are causing chaos because they're bad, so we better go out and stop them! Maybe I just haven't read enough "fantasy" literature, but it mainly just seems like a big cop out mechanism to me [;)]
