Of course ammo dumps blow up.
When ammo dump blows up, it destroys any unit in that same hex.
What I mean is that it does not effect units beyond its own hex.
I destroyed a ammo dump with Russian 12.7mm machineguns (it took awhile) - and it's destruction did not cause ANY suppression or damage to HMG-units - 50 yards away(!) - Even if it may contain explosives equal to 10-50 large aircraft bombs!
And when ammo dumps blow up in real life, I really dont want to be 50 yards away from it.
Give me 500 yards - and I'll be happy.
Currently ammo dumps destruction is flashy looking - but without "any balls"
My last post about this I guess

I know the topic was ammo dumps resistance to fire, but in one (this or other thread,) was mentioned that they should go BOOM... I just did a test, and they DOOOOO! The thing took a few 105 hits from a Wespe, and then made 7 explosions, a big cloud o' smoke, and decimated the poor german troops around the thing, who had been placed there to test colateral damage. (not sure, since it was friendly fire, it may have been the 105s did some/all, but all seems unlikely, as the adjacent squads ranged from 0-50% casualties in that one turn! :-) Either way, seeing one go up is pretty cool. :-)
