MSO94 -> Game stops (2/17/2008 3:36:29 AM)

Ok i have a problem the PIFL has started season 3. I ran half the games fine.

now im try'n to run the other half and they stop early in the first quater. The computer freezes and I have to reboot

any ideas guys

Please try this. (I'm assuming these are quick simulation games..not 3D games)

Put the game in window mode, that will allow you to CTL+ALT+DEL to kill the process, without rebooting.

1. Try playing each game one at a time to see which one is stopping.

2. Once you find which one is stopping, check the playbooks, rosters, and depth charts.

3. Try playing one of the games in 3D rather than quick sim.

If you're still having trouble, please send me the league file and I'll run it here.

thanks
David

Nope

During 3D game as Im watching them play out.
It allows me to start the game without any play book and Profile trouble

Then after a couple plays the computer shuts down completely You can Ctrl+Alt+Del NOTHING. works

Does this happen with the stock leagues?

please email me your league file and I'll see if it has anything to do with that.

also please email me the last couple of files in the debuglog folder. They should be sorted by date so I need the last two or three most recent for the games that failed.

thanks
David

sent to the info@winters

David Winter -> RE: Game stops (2/17/2008 6:34:45 AM)

Thanks I have the files.

Does this happen with the stock leagues?

Can you zip up and send me the playbooks (and the plays) you were using? I've tried running the league game that includes Motor City and Pensecola and it's working okay here. However to make it work, I had to use the stock playbook file.

I also noticed you are not using the default installation location. I'm pretty sure that shouldn't make a difference, but "C:\Documents and Settings\Mike\My Documents\Max Football 2.1800\" is something I'll try here and see if I can have the same thing happen.

Also, I noticed you have the league set to 8 minute quarters. That's not a quarter length that is supported and I'm not sure what problems that would cause. Setting the league rules to values outside the normal allowable game settings is not adviced. While it's probable that in this case there would be no ill effect, some parts of the game AI only accounts for values the game supports. If you manually edit the values to something else the game could break.

thanks
David

garysorrell -> RE: Game stops (2/17/2008 3:33:56 PM)

I've used 6 and 8min quarters in leagues before and it hasnt caused a problem. And I always play or watch the games in 3D.

garysorrell -> RE: Game stops (2/17/2008 3:40:36 PM)

Im pretty sure the PIFL league file is not only a pre 2.18, but I think a pre 2.0

Not sure if that could be causing or contributing to the problem.

MSO94 -> RE: Game stops (2/17/2008 11:31:25 PM)

Dave I sent the files for the playbooks

I also ran a test run of the league file with quick sim games for a bout 3 season nothing happened.
So i used my back up copy of the file and have run 3 of the six games with no problem.
the rest of the league is using a stock PIFL playbook. either run/Pass or Ballance. these games have two different playbooks that were not in any of the other games.

MSO94 -> RE: Game stops (2/17/2008 11:32:52 PM)

The files wont send
It tells me your mail wont allow them as they are to big.

I zipped each seperate playbook in 2 diff e-mails

David Winter -> RE: Game stops (2/18/2008 7:15:11 AM)

hmm that's strange.. the whole plays folder zipped up is barely over 1MB. I've sent you a PM with an alternate email to try.

thanks
David
