rich12545 -> Resolution Question (2/22/2008 11:54:37 PM)

I'm still thinking about buying this game. So I looked at all the ads etc. Looked at the requirements and the res I use isn't included 1280x1024. I would think this would be included but would like a confirmation please.

It runs in your desktop resolution, whatever that may be, so "yes" is your answer. I just tested 1280x1024 to make sure.

Yep. The game runs inside a window, so whatever properties you have set for you comp is what the game should run at. You can also minimize the game as you would any window, which is really handy for longer play sessions.

Slightly off topic is that while "Yes, it's windows based", the width of the group screen appears limited.   I would like to be able to stretch the group window to the full width of my display, but it only widens to about 3/5'ths of the main HCE window.  Darn!

Running at 1600x1200 with one small problem: The pop-up message is truncated ... possibly due to using large fonts?  Or is it a Vista issue?

My first bet would be on the font size being an issue. The game is supposed to work properly on Vista, though I cannot vouch for that myself as I do not (nor will I) have Vista.

You can very quickly determine if the font size is the issue by resetting it in your display preferences (however you do that on Vista, I only know how to do it with XP), and if that solves the issue then it is in fact a font size problem. If it does not solve the issue, then please report it as a bug.

It works fine for me on Vista.

Yes, it is a dpi issue (aka large fonts) giving you some fits at 1600x1200.

I'll live w. it for now. A nice part of the UI is that these msgs get logged to another window.
