I recall before V3.0 was to be released, a discussion to the effect that visibility would be increased. I don't recall the V2.3 parameters, but I've seen in the V4.0 manual how the maximum range is 45, and that only at noon. I've yet to see anything over 30 so far. Will there ever be say a 60 range, so the really expensive stuff will not always have to fight on the shorter ranged units terms?

The user can set this up to 99 when setting up the game. The defaults tend to be on the order listed, or less because very high visibilty conditions are not commmon.

Is this only for scenarios? It doesn't work on WWII campaign I take it. How about the campaign generator?

Even if "bell curved" to account for statistical variation (probably need a skewed distribution here since we already see more than enough "low-visibility" games), players should have a reasonable chance to see some of the longer ranges during campaigns. Even if longer visibilities were uncommon (as Paul says), they still happened historically and right now in campaigns they don't ever happen. I vote YES to having increased chances of longer visibilities in campaign games.
