ORIGINAL: HanBarca Combat tables are the most difficult part of the game, even players with 10 years experience don't agree on how to choose chits or what chit is best for each situation I dont agree with that.. its because there is no Winning or best option. Each time you have a combat, you have a lot of things to evaluate to get the best possibilities. At the end of determining the best strategie (after calculating if your the att or def, the type of land, your morale, your general, your advantage in a type of strategy, who is your opponent, etc) you almost always end with 2 best possibilities, each are good, depending what you want to do. But both have a strategy that can take you out. As i said, its a question of evaluating and what you want to do. Echelon do morale damage, outflank is very powerfull, but should be used with a good strategic leader, both assaults are for colateral damage. Others strategy should be used with precaution. It depends on your opponent ! his personnality for the risks. If a Austrian in attacked by Napi in a plain and knows the players sometimes use Outflank (with wich Napi is ****in good), he cn try to use cordon. If Napi took outflank, the austrian got a ****ing good strategy, but if not, probably he will get ripped into pieces :P its always a decision of the situation, and what the other choose. There is no good answer. So basically in the end you agreed with HanBarca even though you started out saying you disagreed with him. He's right, chit picks vary greatly from player to player - just see the AAR for Monroe where I got blasted for a pick (outflank in the mountains - 67% chance arrival on Rd 1, 100% on Rd 2).
