Marauders -> Maximum Football Expansion Packs (3/22/2008 1:32:48 AM)

With the release of Maximum Football 2.2, there will be a new PC football standard bearer for Wintervalley Software and Matrix Games.

The work on 3.0 will begin in earnest in the coming months, but it will take more than one year to complete. In the mean time, there may be the ability to release some upgrades to 2.2 in the form of expansion packs. Because of the time and production requirements for expansion packs, they would require a small charge for them. I believe this is a good time to inquire what the community would want or expect in an expansion pack and to give feedback on this subject.

Note that wishlist items like general management features, salaries, and any major changes to the main program will have to wait until Maximum Football 3.0. They are core changes that will need parts of the game to be totally written or rewritten, so they will not be available in a 2.2 expansion.

Poll Question: would you want the following items to be included in an expansion pack?

You may vote on multiple selections that would interest you.

The last selection is for those community members who would not be interested in an expansion pack.

Bobolini -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (3/24/2008 4:44:54 PM)

THis sounds great! I would definitely pay!

Marauders -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (3/24/2008 5:15:14 PM)

David Winter: I've thrown around the idea of a version 2.3 but that would be closer to an 'expansion' package I think than anything else. It would have additional stadiums with improved stadium graphics technologies and lighting plus maybe a small feature or two. It would be a paid update ($5 to $7. Something small like that).

Redwolf: A possible cheap expansion with addition stadiums and improved stadium graphics technologies and lighting sounds very interesting ...

Garysorrell: Thats a fantastic idea. More stadiums alone would cause me to buy it. But I'm on board for whatever.

Therhino: I think the paid update thing sounds great. I would not have a problem if we paid for every update.

Hack153: I'd pay for an expansion also!

Scott_War: An expansion with little graphics things is something I personally wouldnt waste my time buying. Mainly becasue I am interested in the game of football and its mechanics, not the stadiums and graphics,.....I would get madden if I was looking for graphics. But there are others who will buy it, so it might be worth your time. Myself, if I really wanted staiums, etc,..I would just download them.

In my opinion your time would be best spent starting work on the next full version of the game. The next real step for this game is head to head single games, head to head matchups in league games, the option for GM functions, and all the things a lot of people wanted in the original version.

DONMVP: I`d probally buy the expansion pack . Hopefully be able to change things in it to still make more customizable . I know people would like to see a stadium that a small college or high school might use.

Bobolini: I'd pay for the expansion pack! Great idea

Simmer: I would also pay.

VCFL Commish: I would pay for a expanded stadium stuff. It wold also be nice if you could purchase unpacked goalposts. Someone said they unpacked it but t was to big to post.

GlennN: I agree with Scott_WAR, I would probably not pay for a graphics enhancement or more stadiums. However, I would be fine paying for additional features, like GM-type things (especially trades), Hall of Fame and All-Pro selections, etc.

Mbsports: I'd pay for GM type things, some actual GOOD enhancement to the output - right now they're attrocious. I actually write Access tables to put them in some sort of reasonable order. Nothing really useable outputs in my opinion - it's all half done and requires another deck of work out of the league owner to post online. My #1 thing is still some Arena Football type things, but law is in the way of that - DOH!

Marauders -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (4/24/2008 8:00:03 AM)

So far, advanced playbooks and new stadiums top the list.

Some people voted for an item and also that they are not interested in an expansion pack.  They must either want free add-ons or took to many blows to the helmet during game day.

Jeanbou -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (5/22/2008 2:24:51 AM)

hello to all,
first thing that i would like to do is to thank David Winter and all who participated to make this game possible plus to be able to play canadian football. i would pay to get expansion pack hoppefully not to expensive. one of the many reasons i bought MF is that it is not like EA sports where you have to buy every year the and plus you cannot do what  ever you want like MF. my personnal wish for MF is to have year after year, to be able to get CFL roster packs to keep the league up to date. to be able for me to see my favorite sport (CFL football) on a pc game is a dream come true. thank you to all who help me on this forum also.
(sorry about my english it is because i am french canadian),

Jean [:)]

garysorrell -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (5/22/2008 3:41:39 AM)

Well Jean, you are bi-lingual.....so congrats to you. And your english is better than many of the people I know who were born and raised speaking it [:D]

Unless David were to get the CFL license, actual real world CFL rosters will have to come from the community. Not sure if anyone has made one yet.

Welcome to the community.

Mykal -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (5/22/2008 6:01:43 AM)

Hi Jean,

Nope there's no Canadian rosters as of yet
but there is everything else you need for Canadian rules
Uniforms, stadiums the lot

If you cant find what you want with regards to CFL, give me a shout
I have the lot which I made for the up coming max mod
but I'll be happy to let you have what you need in advance.

Maybe i'll sit and spend some time on a roster too, it does need to be done.

Welcome to the community

Later, Mykal

therhino -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (5/22/2008 6:20:10 AM)

There will be a CFL roster for the MaxMod which should be released around mid June.

therhino -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (5/24/2008 5:21:50 AM)

There are a lot of CFL fans here so I hope everyone likes. Brockleigh is taking care of the rosters for the CFL so you can thank him.

Mykal -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (5/24/2008 6:32:37 PM)

No problem Jean

My stadium pack for CFL is already uploaded to FBMax
under the file name :Max Mod CFL Stadia - in the unsorted area.
(Note: I did not make these stadiums, they were made by DONMVP and then graphically altered by me)

So you can download those from there

Also if you PM me your email address
along with a list of the CFL uniforms you need, I'll send you them too

Later Brother, Mykal

Jeanbou -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (5/25/2008 2:48:31 AM)

DAWUSS -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (7/29/2008 1:52:24 PM)

Some of those features sound like they belong in mods or updates, not expansion packs. JMO

Breeze -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (7/29/2008 8:53:16 PM)

I voted stadiums as one of my picks, but now I'm rethinking that.  Stadiums probably are in the same category as uniforms - enough people in the community make them that probably few people will pay for them.

But adding a few stadiums might be worth a few bucks for people who want a more polished experience "straight out oft he box".  Ditto for playbooks.

Probably the most crucial thing for an expansion pack would be the rules updates - it's the one thing on this list that the community probably couldn't create itself.

Tae55yang -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (7/31/2016 1:26:32 PM)

I would definitely pay!

SteveSlitherson -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (1/8/2020 3:26:38 AM)

Sounds good. I am interested in New Stadiums.

HIHODON2 -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (1/22/2020 8:52:40 PM)

to bad they never had a expansion pack.

DONMVP -> RE: Maximum Football Expansion Packs (2/2/2020 3:12:37 AM)

WISH THEY HAD CAME OUT WITH EXPANSION PACKS
