Quick Sim thats worth a crap.

Im try'n to fuss. You know I love this game and have dne a lot of uniforms and am part of a few sim leagues.

are we ever going to see a quick sim that is close to real games scores.
i just did 2.2 and did a quick sim 2 weeks.

10-0
3-6
10-17
14-17

all in an indoor game come on not a chance this will ever happen

just my 2 cents but here is what I would like.

1 a good quick sim[:@]
2 a smoother animation[:(]
3 good career stats[:-]
4 more camera angles[:D]
5 easier playbook[:@]

Thats my 2 cents

A new feature of quick sim is a simgame.dat file for each league.

In the main directory, you should see a file titled simgame_PIFL.dat or whatever your league abbreviation is.

Open this file in notepad and start tweaking til you get sim results similar to what you want.

Remember, quarter length affects sim results. The settings in the simgame file are based on 15min qtrs. We know that in played out games, you still get some good stats even with short quarters. This is why you have to tweak and play around with the leagues simgame file. Bump some of the settings up and you will get results more in line with your played games. Dont expect perfection, but it gets close. Im building a small indoor league for release, and it has 10min qtrs. Im currently toying with the simgame to get decent results.

If you hose the simgame for your league, just delete it and the game will make you a new one next time you run the game, with all defaults.

There were very minor changes done to the quick sim for 2.2 but replacing it has never been in the cards until at least version 3

One of the areas that was changed for 2.2 for the quick sim is allowing each league to have it's own data file allowing for specific tweaks and adjustments per league. That prevents you from having to use the same file for both 11man outdoor and 8 man indoor.

You can also get a lot of different results based on the playbooks used in the league. The default 8 man playbook as a larger than normal number of running plays in it. Going to more of a passing game will give you higher scores.

I don't understand what this means. The statistical system for 2.2 was completely rebuilt. There are career stats for regular season and playoffs for each individual team and player. The stats are even split by team so if a player changes teams mid season, you see the stats separated for each team.

I'm not sure what this means either. All of the changes in 2.2 are based on customer requests. Some of those requests were designd to make playbooks easier to use such as multiple file additions, easier play group creation, and changing how the ANY option works to allow specific situations to take priority.

Thanks
David

The game now sets up a quick sim file for each league.

It is simple to modify it to the results one wants.

I will tinker with it as ITs only day one for me. I never give up the ship.
